Accuride picks Wixom location

Accuride Corp. is moving its Northville operations to a high-tech building in Wixom.

The company chose its new space for its easy freeway access to I-96, as well as for the image of the building, said David Giltner of Signature Associates, who represented the landlord, CBG Property LLC, in the 10-year lease.

 

 

Ford wins tax credits to redevelop former Wixom assembly plant

Ford Motor Co. received approval Wednesday for $20 million in state tax credits to redevelop its shuttered Wixom assembly plant as a long-planned alternative-energy industrial park and resuscitate one of the auto industry’s largest plant casualties.

Baltimore energy company eyeing Ford Wixom plant

Townsend Energy Solutions, LLC, headquartered in Baltimore, Md., has expressed interest in the Ford property. Founded in 1975, Townsend Energy Solutions invests in real estate, energy, and sporting and manufacturing companies. Their investment holdings topped $1.5 billion in 2008, and the company is currently involved in a joint venture with Dow Kokam to produce batteries for automotive and consumer use.I n addition to Townsend, Caterpillar has expressed interest in the property. Majic Window and Sliding Door Co. The property sold for $2.3 million, or about $90 per square foot. It is at 30580 Beck Road, part of the Beck North Corporate Park.
